New Year, New Kitchen

Grey Nebraska Kitchen
Christmas is in four days and with the New Year fast approaching too, now is the time to start getting a plan of action together for 2016. Sure, we all have our New Year Resolutions embedded on our minds to eating healthier, get fit, be more organised and how ever more ‘goals’ you can think of, but what about simply doing what we really want to do.

Our house is our home and we want to come home every evening to a space we feel comfortable with and that we are happy to invite friends and family around to at the drop of a hat. However for some of us we don’t believe we can do this, because we simply are not happy with the way some of the rooms look.

Now is the time to start planning and prepping for the New Year and getting a plan of action together to sort your space out once and for all! The kitchen is always known as one of the most sociable rooms in the house; chatting away with a drink as you cook up the family’s next delicious meal. Depending on the size of your kitchen, it’s also a space for the kids to sit and does their homework as you help out whilst cracking on with tasks of your own.

Although this time of year is not great timing to get the kitchen fitters in Llandudno around, it’s still a great time to book them and consult with your kitchen designer to see exactly how much work needs to be done to achieve the vision you have. In order to get you started, we have listed a few things below you should consider when creating a plan for your new or refurbished kitchen:

  1. Budget. Do you have a price in mind? If so, make sure it is realistic to be able to give you what you need in your kitchen. Will it cover the costs of materials, appliances and accessories? If you require them, will it also cover the costs of installation?
  2. Colour scheme. If you have a colour scheme in mind for your walls, tiles and accessories, make sure the worktops and cupboard doors match. They don’t need to be the same colour, but they need to be complimentary towards one another.
  3. Installation. Do you feel confident to install the kitchen yourself? Or perhaps you have a team of friends and family who are good at D.I.Y? Either way, decide how much you can do yourself and decide later on if you need to get the professionals in. This could save you time and money either way, so be sure to decide from the beginning to ensure you book a team in fast!

Get Your New Kitchen in Time for Christmas

Kitchens North Wales
The festive season is upon us and although ten weeks remain until Christmas Day, a new kitchen can be time consuming. If you want a new kitchen in time for having family and friends over for Christmas, it is highly advised to contact your chosen company who provide quality kitchens in North Wales today.

In order to get the ball rolling and the planning process off to a successful start, contact your kitchen designer with a plan of action. If you attend your consultation with no idea in mind in terms of counter tops, cupboard doors, colour scheme or appliances, then the process will take longer. In order to save time, which is crucial at this time of year, have your ideas on paper ready to hand over.

Although timing is an important element to consider around the festive period, money is equally as important. Many of us have a budget with no leeway, which means certain door and worktop finishes are out of the picture. The cheapest finish and products aren’t always the lowest of quality and are often advised for your kitchen over more expensive finishes.

Kitchen designers in North Wales are very experienced and understand that not everybody has an unlimited budget. They understand which products, materials and appliances are appropriate for an affordable kitchen. However, the products and materials used are also advised based on your requirements.

There are arrays of showrooms featuring kitchens in North Wales, all of which provide inspiration for our next project. This is where some of us find our kitchen ideas, but they may not always be appropriate for your home, the existing space you have for you kitchen, but also your budget.

If you are advised on specific materials to be able to create your kitchen, but these do not sit comfortably with the bank account, be flexible. Although being determined to have the kitchen you designed from the very start is acceptable, if it is not a possibility due to costs you need to be willing to make sacrifices along the way.

To start designing your perfect kitchen in time for Christmas, book your first consultation today to avoid missing out. Greentree Kitchens offer a superb service to all and have designed functional kitchens for starter homes, all the way through to large scale installations for commercial use. You can contact their team today by calling 01492 585477 or emailing your enquiries to:

K Rend Silicone FT

exterior render
Richard Williams Builder’s Merchants in Llandudno Junction and Ruthin are the major supplier of K Rend for North Wales and the North West.

All K Rend products are highly popular choices of exterior render, especially the Silicone FT.
If you have selected the K Rend Silicone FT render for your home it comes in a wide range of natural tones and more vibrant shades. Colour samples are available upon request for you to decide the best shade for your project.

K Rend Silicone FT incorporates the best qualities of silicone water repellents into a cement based render system in its sophisticated design.

This is a great choice of render because although it has high water repellence it is also breathable and allows water vapour to pass through, so the amount of dirt that sticks to the surface is greatly reduced.

The ultra-dry surface is resistant to both algae growth and lime bloom allowing your render colour and finish to last longer.

When applying K Rend Silicone FT it is best applied over a K Rend base coat as part of a two coat system but it can also be used as a one coat system by itself over blockwork. If you have opted for the two coat system it is advisable that both coats are made approximately 10 -12mm thick. Try to get the thickness to a uniform line and level to maintain the best high quality finish possible. If you are applying it over blockwork as part of the one coat system the thickness should be about 16mm.

It is always a good idea to complete a small sample panel to ensure you are happy with your chosen colour of K Rend. Remember that K Rend is created from natural products and this means that colour can vary quite a bit.

Order your K Rend now from Richard Williams Builder’s Merchants on 01492 583423 or 01824 702475.

What Do You Need To Consider When Buying Property?

Coastline Removals
Finding the perfect home isn't easy, but there are ways you can make it simpler for yourself. When searching the property market you would ideally have a vision of what your new home would be; three bedrooms, open plan kitchen, a large garden and perhaps even a conservatory.

It’s all down to personal preference, but it does make a huge difference if you know what you are looking for from the start. Therefore, our first tip is to note down all the features you want your new home to have: how many bedrooms? Do you need a garage and/or a driveway? Do you need to be close to a school and public transport links? Is a large garden necessary?

Tip Two: Prioritise. What are the most important features when looking for property? For example, if your move is due to starting a family then consider the fact that additional space is a main factor, but also think of the future – a local school and perhaps a park would be ideal.

Tip Three: Be flexible. We all get an image in our heads of what our dream home would be, but in reality we don’t actually need everything we see. If you’re looking specifically for a three, four or even five bedroom house because you need it, then that’s fine. However if you know you don’t need that many rooms and would be happy with one or two less, then narrow it down.

Tip Four: Budget. Buying property isn't the cheapest of tasks, but we all have a budget in mind that we can afford when it comes to that step in life. When searching for a house, consider whether any work needs to be done on the property. From there, add the estimated cost of that work onto the property’s price tag and see where that sits within your budget. If the house costs more than it’s worth, keep looking.

Tip Five: Once you’ve found your perfect home and you start planning your big move, that’s where we come in. Many require a reliable removal company in North Wales and across the UK, and we are that and more. Coastline Removals offer exceptional customer service and quality services. Be sure to check out these additional top tips for how to prepare in the weeksleading up to your moving day.

It’s Not Just a Door: Get to Know Which Door Is Best for Your Dream Kitchen

Lacquer remains one of the top choices when it comes to luxury kitchens, despite there being an advance in cheaper materials which imitate it. Its high quality and luxurious professional finish is what justifies the cost of this material. Lacquer doors have numerous coats applied to them, yet all vary from one another depending on whether they have been treated on one or both sides. However, it is not a material which is easily restored due to the multitude of colour choices available and the intense shine it provides. Incidentally, this type of door is available in matt, metallic, sating and other finishes and is scratch-resistant which provides an additional quality feature.

Specialists and kitchen fitters in Llandudno know how to tell a lacquered door from a laminate one, but do you? Laminate doors’ side edges are banded with more or less discretion, however new laser band machines that manufacturers are beginning to use, make it harder to spot the difference. This is especially difficult to try and differentiate between a lacquered gloss and a high gloss laminate, where the latter has been manufactured using this new equipment. What is certain however is these materials, which are available in a variety of finishes, are resistant to abrasion and knocks, plus they are proving to be less prone to scratches than lacquer.

Due to the manufacturing process, the edges of polymer doors are coated in such a way that they closely resemble lacquered doors. However, some say that polymers suffer from too much heat and age which makes them the less popular door type to opt for when designing your kitchen.

Acrylic doors are better known by some as super high gloss laminates and have the appearance of glass. The benefit to acrylic doors as opposed to lacquered for example, is they are very easy to maintain which makes for an ideal door choice for your kitchen. The downfall to this type of door however, is the range of colours available is limited. These doors are manufactured by adding a layer of acrylic film to layers of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS); a polymer thermoplastic with a good impact resistance, which is relatively rigid, lightweight and can also be moulded. They are then assembled by thermo bonding onto an MDF panel.

If you have any questions regarding the types of doors available, you can contact your nearest kitchen showroom in North Wales such as Greentree Kitchens, who are more than happy to assist you with your queries. You can contact them by calling 01492 585 477 or email:

Planning Tips for Your Kitchen

Inline Gloss Grey Kitchen
It’s officially the start of the summer season and the school holidays have just begun, making this the perfect time of the year to gather friends and family in the garden and make fantastic platters of food for all to enjoy.

The kitchen is the heart of every home, as this is where friends stand and natter away whilst you cook and pour drinks, families gather to plate up their Sunday roasts and many bake delicious treats.

When renovating a kitchen many of us focus on the style and aesthetic of our space, but not the functionality. This could be things as simple as what spot is best for the fridge or where are we going to place the bin? There are many practical aspects of your kitchen you need to bear in mind when designing your new space.

There are many kitchens in North Wales, the North West and other places in the UK that are featured in furniture showrooms, to provide us with visual guidance on how a fantastic kitchen should look. Here are a few tips to consider:

Breakfast Bar Overhang – Depending on how much space you have in your kitchen, a breakfast bar can be implemented. These are ideal for kitchens that are integrated in the lounge, as they separate it from the living space but provide a seated area to eat or even work. To ensure everyone is comfortable at a breakfast bar, it is best to consider an overhang on your island/breakfast bar. This provides extra leg room which is a must for many.

Dishwasher/Sink Placement – For many a dishwasher is a luxury appliance and their kitchen does not have room for one, but for those who do have one it is important to install it in the right location. Firstly, install it next to the sink to avoid dripping water and grease across the floor as this is more convenient. Additionally, it is also important to place it close by to the sink due to plumbing works.

Recycling & Waste Bins – The location of your bin for general waste should be in a spot that is easily accessible, without the need to walk right into the kitchen. This is to avoid getting in the way of those who are cooking, but so those just walking by can easily deposit waste. If you have recycling bins it may be best to integrate these into cupboards so they are hidden away.

Space – When designing your kitchen, it is advised to leave 1 meter of floorspace between your two worktops. This ensures that if two or more people are in the kitchen at one time, they will feel comfortable enough to continue cooking, prepping or even just standing to talk to others.
There are so many planning tips available and these are starters to consider.

Get Organised for Your Big Move

Moving property and the items from one place to another takes a great deal of organisation, time management and physical strength. Typically you would have a big collection of boxes, fragile items, valuables, heavy furniture and much more. This means hiring a firm from a selection of removal companies in North Wales, the North West or anywhere else in the UK, would be a worthwhile investment for your move.

When it comes to hiring a removals company, price isn't everything. Make sure you get several quotes from various removal companies in your area to be able to compare against one another. This goes for previous customer feedback, the services they can offer and their professionalism.

Always remember to read the fine print on these quotes, as some are subjected to various terms and conditions, but these are not obvious. The last thing you want amongst everything else you have going on during your move is an invoice through the letterbox for an amount much higher than initially expected.

When you are contacting your removal company, you can often be shy of questions to ask, but plan beforehand. Get a list of suitable questions together to hold in front of you, as this way you won’t forget anything. Here are a few to get you started:

-          What level and type of insurance cover is offered?
-          How long has the company been trading and can they supply references?
-          How will you pack and protect my belongings and house?
-          How will the move be carried out? For example, number of days, time of arrival, crew size.
-          What will the security be like if your goods are on a vehicle overnight?
-          Do you have an office or depot I can visit?

It is always best practice to ask as many questions as possible, even when you think you have all the answers you need. Removal companies are in close proximity to your property and all your possessions that you are moving, therefore you want to ensure that you know everything and more about them.

Also remember that starting early is not a bad thing, as you can never be too prepared when it comes to a big move. Take your time finding the right company for you. Gathering a number of quotes from companies can take weeks depending on their schedules, plus they get booked up very quickly.

How to Find the Best Builders For Your Project

Alwyn Jones Builders in North Wales
When you are looking for builders in North Wales, it is difficult to find the right one for you. Whether your project is big or small, you need to make sure you have hired the best team in your area for the best possible outcome. In the long run this can be time and cost effective, without the worry of needing to go searching for a new firm.

Below we have some simple steps to consider when searching for your builders in North Wales:

·         Ask the builder how long they have been trading for. It is important to know your builders background before you start a contract with them, as well as a portfolio. Also ask what kind of experience they have in the area you need work with.

·         Check credentials such as building affiliations and trade associations and contact them to ensure they are a bona fide member. Membership of these is sought after and respected and also improves their reputation.

·         Get references. Call past clients and do your research on whether or not they have had a positive relationship with the builders and the reasons for their answers. You wouldn’t buy anything off Amazon without checking the review first, would you?

·         Get a full list of what is covered in the costs and what isn’t. This includes site maintenance, supplies, materials, clearance and anything else you can think of. Get their answer in writing for confirmation and something to refer back to at a later date. Also it would be an intelligent move to get confirmation as to whether planning permission is required, and if they will need to apply for building regulations approval.

·         Avoid VAT free deals – if there’s no proof of payment you do not have a valid contract.

·         Be thorough about the details. The contract should outline what needs to be done, important dates (start and completion), security, safety, cost of work, materials, payment, catering, lavatory arrangements for builders, hours of work and waste disposal.

·         Keep money simple – be straight about it with the builder and have it in writing specifics detailed.
·         Avoid paying cash upfront or a deposit. It should not be needed except in special circumstances. For example, if it is going to take a very long time to complete or if there’s specialist building materials.

·         Guarantees. Are they offering guarantee on a large scale job, if it’s a new build, you’ll need a guarantee on such a property.

·         Is the builder insured? They should have enough cover to protect themselves against property damage and personal and public liability, to protect you and the public in case of injury or harm.

Benefits of a Roof Truss & Some Interesting Info!

Roof trusses are prefabricated, measured and fitted wooden support beams which support the roofing structure of a traditional style building.  Roof trusses allow flexibility in design and are also very visually appealing in a rustic/ornate way.

Cost effectiveness
Roof trusses are considered a cost effective method of securing roof installation. Long clear spans can be achieved at an economic rate. This way trusses can span 10-15 metres without any need for internal support. Open plan homes suit this method exceptionally.

Eases the process.
Piece of mind for building authorities and certifying engineers
With development, it alleviates the need for any designers or engineers to prepare detailed specifications concerning roof, floor and wall parts.  Conventional roof building today leaves an awful lot up to chance and the builder’s opinion. In terms of the roof’s strength. However, a trussed roof system is designed beforehand by engineers; this accommodates a specified roof design and meets all building codes. This ensures a uniform size and roof pitch, less can go wrong.

Aesthecally pleasing
Roof Trusses are more and more considered to be very handsome when left exposed in a natural fashion, and can even be a wonderful decorative piece.

Built offsite
Trusses are delivered the site, all ready to install which minimises complications on the day. Unlike other materials which re supplied on site for stick built construction, trusses are specially designed for each and every job. Materials are much less likely to be subjected to thievery.  Production of trusses takes place off site which means that it will not be subjected to site conditions. (Weather conditions, space etc.)

Roof trusses and their systems allow for almost any kind of custom roof design and shape imaginable; this allows features such as cross gables and cathedral ceilings, all without being prohibitively expensive.

K Rend Suppliers

K Rend
When you are choosing K Rend for the exterior render of your property you have a great choice in colour range, texture and design so how do you know what will work best?

One of the K Rend textures available is the Silicone Thin Coat. It has a fine texture to its finish and is available in two sub textures: TC15 and TC30. These codes refer to the maximum particle size within the mix.

Another option is the Silicone Scraped Texture. The scraped texture offers a dynamic finish which is obtained by floating the mix to a level surface then scraping over the render while it is still not set hard. The objective is to remove 2mm to deliver a uniformity to the overall textured result.

There is actually a choice of four products within this texture range alone.

• Silicone FT
• Silicone Spray E Grade
• New Silicone K1
• K1 Spray

If you are unsure which product will deliver which texture head to your local K Rend suppliers like Richard Williams Builder’s Merchants in North Wales, their friendly staff will explain the difference and best methods of application.

If you desire that traditional pebble stone dash appearance try the Silicone Dash Receiver range. Its pebble dash appearance is achieved by applying the receiver and then throwing the aggregate onto the surface while the receiver is still wet.

Once again K Rend provides a wealth of choice even within texture ranges. There are 3 products within this range:

• Silicone Dash
• Overcoating Silicone Dash
• Silicone Spray Dash

Another option is Silicone Roughcast. It is very similar to the pebble dash finish but offers a more painted pebble dash result.

If you love a brick finish K Rend even has a solution for that with the Brick Rend texture. The method is to apply two different coloured coats, wet on wet. The top coat is then cut through to expose the mortar layer. The mortar joints create a brick effect finish.

Once you have chosen your texture there is a wide colour range of 20 different shades to choose from as well as different design features available from K Rend to make your property finish extra special. To find out more about the different options with K Rend design contact your local supplier Richard Williams K Rend Suppliers in North Wales for advice or pop to either of their branches in Llandudno Junction or Ruthin for a chat.

Invest in Healthy Eating Appliances

Sous Vide
There’s a selection of showrooms featuring fantastic fitted kitchens in North Wales and across the UK, many of which host a number of quality kitchen appliances to suit your lifestyle.

If you’re considering opting for the lifestyle of healthy eating, but don’t want to be tempted by the convenience of placing pizza and chips in the oven, then there’s a few appliances you should introduce yourself to.

Steam and Sous Vide cookery is the way forward for domestic cookery applications. You can create perfectly bakes, roasts and scrumptious slow cooks every time with the use of these units.

Why is this good for your food? Well, steam penetrates food and transfers heat evenly and efficiently. The highly saturated atmosphere also stops food from drying out, whilst still giving you that perfect colour on your roast potatoes and meats. Great for the ideal Sunday Lunch, wouldn't you agree?

The efficient conduction reduces cooking time, which keeps the vibrant colour in your vegetables, stops food from getting a mushy texture and also prevents breakdown of essential vitamins.

If you love the finish you get on your meat from slow-cooking, then Sous Vide ovens are what you need. You can cook your steaks to perfection over three hours, with precise 1 degree Celsius increments of temperature.

If you are a Sous Vide enthusiast, then you may have come across vacuum packing, which is available at industry grade for your home. You can waste less and eat fresh more often, simply by storing your perishables in an oxygen free and sterile environment.

Lastly, steam ovens by AEG which are supplied by Greentree Kitchens offer a dehydration function. Dehydration is a powerful, yet underused tool when cooking in a household. Ways of preserving food in a healthy way is a topical subject. You can preserve your own supplies, make healthy snacks and reduce your household waste with the use of food dehydration.

There’s no need to worry about losing flavours, as you can dry mushrooms, stocks and vegetables for intense flavouring and quick to hand ingredients. There are so many benefits to utilising the correct tools in the kitchen, to ensure you are eating healthy, reducing household waste and increasing sustainability.

British Coastlines & Communities: How Can Sea Defence Help?

There is an array of British coastlines across the nation, which are collapsing through worsening erosion. There’s a variety of the country’s favourite coastal beauty spots that have already suffered from flooded beaches and further damage to buildings in the local area. However, more is expected to come under threat over the decades from rising seas.

Defence contractors in the UK are there to complete sea defence projects with quality rock armour, in order for local communities close by to these affected coastlines to stay safe. A number of Wales’ most loved places which are currently under threat, include Llanrhidian Marsh in Gower, Cwm ivy in Swansea, Stockpile and Abereiddi.

Failing sea defences have been removed from the latter to allow a beach area to realign 30 metres inland, but defence contractors are set to save the beloved locations from further damages.

Approximately 1,100 miles of English coast alone, which is estimated to be a total of 2,800 miles, is currently at risk of coastal erosion. The Environment Agency has estimated that around 700 properties could be lost to coastal erosion over the next 20 years, with as many as 2,000 over the next 50 years.

Flood and Sea defence is an extremely important sector to consider, in order to prevent further damage being caused across the nation. Fortunately, the UK Government has invested £2.3 billion into helping many areas across the UK with funding for over 1,500 projects.

The National trust has many miles of coastline under its control, but 60% of their own is already severely damaged by erosion. They have estimated that as a result to this devastation, a tenth of its coastline could retreat naturally by up to 200 metres inland over the next 100 years. However, 5% of this is likely to move back by an even greater distance.

The new national database SurgeWatch that was announced earlier on this year, is another solution researchers have come up with to help prevent traumatic changes over the upcoming years. You can find out more about this useful tool, by reading the article: SurgeWatch: A New Database to Help PreventCoastal Flooding.

How To Increase The Value of Your Property

Kitchen Designers and Fitters in North Wales
If you are a home owner looking to sell your property then there are numerous ways you can increase the value of your home, to ensure a quicker sell that delivers greater potential than other properties in your local area. Additionally, you may be a home owner simply looking to invest in your own property to create your dream home.

Ultimately, home improvements in all aspects can breathe new life into a property. Many home improvements can cost you thousands, from new kitchens, bathrooms or a conservatory, but which one gives the value of your home the biggest boost? There are a number of quality interior designers, bathroom and kitchen fitters in North Wales, as well as other services throughout the UK that can get you started.

Before splashing the cash on a brand new extension or other renovations, work out your budget and get quotes from numerous businesses in your area. For example Greentree Kitchens offers a service which takes your ideas and turns them into fantastic designs, before becoming reality. Their team of designers and kitchen fitters in North Wales work together, to provide you with the best possible quote for everything from design, choice of appliances and installation.

A survey carried out by the National Association of Estate Agents last year revealed the top home improvements that could add the best value to your property. Half of estate agents who participated ranked adding a bedroom, usually by converting a loft space, as the best possible modification. On the other hand, a third of respondents suggested a kitchen would add the best value. A variety of estate agents did similar research based on their clients who have sold properties and this showed  the most valuable additions to your home are an extra bedroom, loft conversion, bathroom, new kitchen and central heating.

A new kitchen is often the focal point of a home and is one of the main rooms in a property which can reflect the owner’s tastes and personality. The kitchen is also one of the first rooms buyers consider replacing if not up to scratch. Therefore if the kitchen is newly renovated, this could save them money making your property more appealing, but make you a profit in the long run.

Rock Armour: How does it Protect Your Home?

Rock Armour in North Wales
During torrential weather on the coastline, there’s always the chance that household damage can be caused by high waves that manage to overcome the sea defences in place. You only have to look at the storms from later last year, to see how suddenly dramatic weather can cause havoc.

Since then, many local councils across the United Kingdom have been turning to the experts in sea defense, to try and make as many fortifications to their seafronts as possible. All too often during the storms, there were reports of defences being breached and homes being damaged; you may even recall the dramatic sight of whole towns in London being underwater. The government moved slowly to amend the destruction and it must be said that most of it could have been avoided if they had taken the precautions.

Precautions such as implementing high quality rock armour in North Wales and across other coastal regions of the country. If the name doesn't sound familiar then the image certainly will. Beaches across the country are slowly filling up with large rock formations by the seafront wall and for good reason.

Also known as riprap, shot rock or rubble, rock armour is a highly- durable collection of different rocks which are placed in a tight formation to each other. This then acts to effectively negate the power of strong waves and to stop them from creeping over the top of sea walls. The rocks themselves absorb some of the water and the gaps within the formation act to interrupt a quick flow.

Consisting of granite or limestone, rock armour isn't just limited to the coast in its usage as its effectiveness has been proven with steambeds, pilings and bridge abutments. You may also find them (in much smaller quantities) in waterways and canals. Rock armour also acts as a shield for erosion, as it will take the brunt of the saltwater from incoming waves.

Thanks to these reasons and many more, councils across the country have been scrambling around trying to plug up any weaknesses in coastal defences. This is by implementing armour since the storms began. Transporting and acquiring the large boulders is a different matter altogether, as they will have had to contact specialist contractors for the job.

Jennings Building and Civil Engineering are one such company whose services have been in high demand for rock armour in North Wales and beyond. They have many contacts in quarries across the world, so they’re never lacking in high quality boulders. One of their biggest orders was for an impressive 250,000 tonnes of boulders in Fleetwood.

If you would like to investigate Jennings’ services further, please call them on 01492 514006 or email

How to Improve Your Property with Liquid Screed

Liquid Screed for Under Floor Heating
Homeowners can often find selling their property very difficult. Trying to get people to view the house, then providing them with the grand tour that hopefully will impress them can often be a lengthy process. The real difficulty comes with acting on any issues that prevent you from actually selling the property. There are a number of small factors you can implement to make a home suitable for purchase. Simply cleaning the property from head to toe can play a huge part, but also providing quality finishes and installments to rooms can be the challenge that pays off.

Underfloor heating is a big selling point with a lot of buildings. Whether a house or a commercial building, it’s an element of a building that offers something new, efficient and desirable. Liquid screed has revolutionised underfloor heating systems, allowing for fast installation and smooth, leveled screeds.

Liquid screed has been used for over 15 years throughout the UK, for big projects in the public sector to small built projects at home. It provides you with the highest quality floor finish available, but the perks don’t stop there. Liquid screed has up to a 30% increase in thermal efficiency making your underfloor heating even better. There’s speedy application with minimum mess and it also dries quickly enough to walk on within 48 hours.

A valued floor screed plays the role of conducting the heat evenly across the surface of the floor, without producing any hot or cold spots. This makes for an environmentally friendly and economical space, with cost-effective benefits in the long run. It helps retain heat for longer hours which reduces the energy required at the source and improves the energy efficiency of the underfloor heating system.

There are many ways to improve your home, not just visually but in ways that benefit the homeowners themselves. The option of underfloor heating provides an additional element to a home which isn't visible for all to see, but it’s a noted selling point which can increase the value of a place instantly. The luxury sense of UFH is enough to please viewers alone, but the idea of reaping in the benefits through saving pennies in the long run is also desirable to many.
